day 21

another day in ireland. the day began as i woke up around 9:00am. we have funny story that is continuing to develop throughout this tour. there is a guy from norway (i dont know his name), but hes really nice. the only thing is that he snores at an incredible level. so every night everyone trys to secretly avoid getting stuck in his room (with my luck ive gotten him 2 days in a row). but the funny part is that we developed a very fitting nickname that what have given him. since all we know about him is that he snores and that he is from norway, so we combined the two and call him - snoreway. At 10am we met the belfast black taxi tour at our hostel to go on a driving and walking tour of belfast. We got to go into many of the neighborhoods and see the murals on the buildings. we also learned about all the history between the catholics and protestants in northern ireland. the guides spoke a different language almost, but i managed to catch most of what they were saying. after we left belfast we had a bit of a drive and left northern ireland and went west to glenveagh national park. we spent about 2 hours there walking around the mountains, lake, and castle and once again the weather was perfect so it was really nice. from there we went back to derry again at the same hostel, and went out and bought some dinner, and came back to the hostel, and that is where i am now.

  1. I know that the Protestants and Catholics weren't fond of each other, but I never knew why.

I'm sure you can explain it perfectly now.
